Hey, Girlfriend, Hey chick Give It A Whirl Happy Birthday Card

If your in my age range you may remember growing up playing with paper dolls.
This card reminds me of that.

I saw this card from Tricia Coward and we have 2 beautiful

granddaughter twins turning 6 next week. I just had to make

them these fun paper dolls with the paper dresses.

I used 2 different girls then Tricia used in the Hey girlfriend stamp sets that are retired.

I also used the Hey chick Happy birthday chickens since our girls raise chickens.

It is so fun and cute I can't wait to give it to them.

Project Recipe:

  1. Cut the base 5.25 x 8.25 and score at 4.25,
I used Highland heather to match my Designer series paper. I also cut a basic white for the inside sentiment but you won't need this piece if your using basic white for your base.

  2. Cut a matching Designer series paper 4 1/8 x 5 1/4

  3. Die cut the Give It A whirl front and circle onto basic white using the large stamp and cut machine.

  4. Use the Stamparatus to stamp the girl onto the front and onto the circle 3 times where the dresses will be added. You will need to create a mask with a sticky note to line her up perfectly on the circle and it's best to watch the you tube video to understand how this works.

  5. Color in her skin tone using Ivory blends, color her hair I used Bronze but you can choose any color, color her bow, lips and eyes. I also colored the leggins in black

  6. Stamp her with black momento ink onto 3 different Designer Series papers you like for her dresses and fussy cut them out. I cut around her arms and I stamped her hands, colored them in ivory and added them with tombow glue.

  7. Attach her 3 different dresses with Tombow glue to the circle

  8. line up the designer series paper with the front die cut and take your take a pick tool or sharp edge of your paper snips and poke a hole where the circle will be attached. Then attach the circle to the DSP using a small round white brad.

  9. Adhere the front Basic White using dimensioanls being careful to place them around and away from where the circle is. You want your circle to spin freely under it.

  10. Use blending brushes to apply a light blue sky, and use granny apple green to marker in the grass under her feet

  11. Die cut the clouds and stamp your sentiment on them , attach them with adhesive glue or dimensional , being aware that the thicker your card is the more postage you will need to add if your mailing it.

  12. You may stamp the chickens, color them in and add them as well, this is totally optional. Stamp your sentiment in the inside.

  13. I added wink of Stella for some glitter, I love sparkles.

  14. To see the full instructions watch my video on my you tube channel, it is a bit unpolished and I appreciate your patience as I navigate learning new tools to share these cards with you.
